For Today...
Outside my window... darkness. It is bedtime.
I am thinking... about sleep. I need some.
I am thankful... that Addison's first week of school has gone so well. She was so nervous about it, but the transition has been great so far.
From the kitchen... taco roll, sauteed asparagus, and strawberries.
I am creating... not much... working on figuring out plans for our September track-out.
I am going... to see an old friend next weekend. She only lives about 30 minutes away, but we don't get together as often as I'd like. It is so easy to get wrapped up in the day to day chaos and neglect to make time for friends.
I am reading... The Chocolate Lovers' Club by Carole Matthews.I finished Sugar and Iced by Jenn McKinlay. That was fun fluff reading as her books always are. I also finished The Great Greene Heist by Varian Johnson. It is a middle school book (probably good for grades 5-7 or so) and was written by a friend of a friend. It is sort of an "Ocean's Eleven" style story set in middle school... cute idea. There were a few things I didn't like about it, but overall, I think it is a good book for that age group.
I am hoping... that things at work calm down a little bit. It has been really busy lately.
I am hearing... Elise sneezing.
Around the house... I put away mountains and mountains and mountains of laundry today. Every hanger is full. Every closet is full. Every laundry basket is empty. Whew.
One of my favorite things... spray sunscreen. Some new study came out saying that you shouldn't use it on kids. Tough. I would never let my kids go outside in daylight if I had to lather them up with lotion all the the time. We will just have to accept the risks and keep on spraying.
A few plans for the rest of the week... taekwondo, swim lessons, jump rope, working at the ball park, elementary school open house, blah, blah, blah.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing... excuse the finger in the picture, but Addie has finally figured out that for a dive, you actually go in head first, not just point your hands in dive position and then jump in feet first. Progress!

Hello! I am so glad you stopped by my blog (Joyful in His Presence)! I enjoyed reading here SO much! Your writing style is one that really drew me in to picturing in my mind the things you were describing...especially those mountains and mountains and mountains of laundry you put away yesterday! Isn't it a great feeling to have it all done at once...closets and drawers full?
In reading here I noticed that you spent your 4th of July at Snowshoe in WV. Are you located in WV? We live in Preston County in a little community about 10 minutes south of Bruceton Mills, WV.
Take care and have a wonderful week!
