For Today...
Outside my window... we had sun today, finally! I feel like I've been living in a big grey cloud the last couple of weeks.
I am thinking... that I need to go to bed early tonight.
I am thankful for... the government shutdown ending. My cousin's adoption has been finalized, and they got visas from the US Consulate in Macedonia TODAY!
From the kitchen... pork chops on the grill, sweet potatos, broccoli and cauliflower, and biscuits.
I am creating... Christmas lists, Christmas gifts, Christmas cards, etc.
I am going... to get up early tomorrow morning with Elise. I love that J.C. does that job 95% of the time. The middle school bell schedule is torture.
I am reading... Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper. I am really enjoying it so far. Elise said she wants to read it after me, and I'm hoping Nina will read it too. It is a little more challenging than what Nina usually reads, but she needs to challenge herself a bit more anyway.
I am hoping... my cousin's flights go OK with her boys later this week. Can you imagine traveling with 4 and 5 year old boys who have never been on a plane before from Macedonia to Croatia to Germany to North Carolina to Michigan? I am exhausted just thinking about it!
I am hearing... Addie muttering to herself as she cuts out pictures from the American Girl Doll catalog for her Christmas list.
Around the house... the aforementioned pictures from the AG catalog. She has them spread out all over the family room.
One of my favorite things... candy corn Oreos.
A few plans for the rest of the week... a couple of doctor appointments, the elementary school fall festival, a Girl Scout campout for Nina, the first middle school dance for Elise, and book club for Addie.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing... the Girl Scout camporee that Elise attended this past weekend. The picture isn't great, but that is a circle of 500 girls for the flag ceremony. It is great to see so many teen girls still active in Scouts!

Yay for the adoptions being finalized!

The flight into Charlotte was on schedule so they may all be deplaning right now! The limo driver who is picking up the booster seats has kindly offered to take me with him to Detroit where they are due in tonight at 8:36!
Hooray from one very excited grandmother!
