For Today...
Outside my window... I am so done with the gloomy weather! I need some sun!
I am thinking... that the rain better clear up before I chaperone Addison's field trip on Thursday to the pumpkin patch. I really don't want to tromp around in the mud with a bunch of kindergarteners.
I am thankful for... Addie's first Daisy scout meeting going really well tonight. She gets so anxious about new situations. With her recent track record in starting kindergarten, I was a bit nervous at introducing something else new to rock her little world. I think she had a great time though. There were four girls from her school, and one who lives in our neighborhood who she knows from the bus. Whew!
From the kitchen... some pretty fall flowers for decor, but not much cooking going on.
I am creating... pumpkin patch and beach blog posts? I'm a bit slow wading through pictures at the moment.
I am going... to volunteer tomorrow morning at the elementary school collecting donations/votes for "Kiss the Pig." Do other schools do this? Kids can vote with quarters for which teacher they think should kiss the pig. Then at the fall festival, the teacher at each grade level with the most votes has to kiss the pig. Sometimes it is a cute little pink piggie. Other years, it has been a big ugly grey boar! I'm not sure I would want to be a popular teacher when it comes to that event!
I am reading... nothing at the moment, but I plan to read the October book club book next. I finished Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella. It was OK... typical Kinsella - outlandish storyline, but basically fun chick-lit.
I am hoping... that this ridiculous government shutdown comes to an end soon. There is really no excuse for it.
I am hearing... a very quiet house. Everyone is asleep.
Around the house... clutter. sigh.
One of my favorite things... the public library.
A few plans for the rest of the week... it is such a busy week - volunteering at the school, chaperoning the field trip, jump rope team parent meeting, Girl Scout meetings, early release day for school, jump rope judge training, Girl Scout pumpkin patch trip for Addie, and Girl Scout camporee for Elise.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing... Nina on the bounce pillow at the pumpkin patch this past weekend.

Thanks for visiting my blog. I know what you are saying about the overcast skies. It's fine if it is actually going to rain, but I need sun to function.
I have been a Girl Scout leader since my youngest daughter was a Daisy. They are now Cadettes, getting ready to bridge to Seniors. I was a Girl Scout too, as was one of my aunts. It's a great family legacy.
