I've mentioned previously how my brain has turned to mush, losing more and more brain cells with each child born. I figured pregnancy was partly to blame, but yesterday I got confirmation that this is true for fathers too, not just mothers.
J.C., Elise, and Addie went to preschool yesterday to pick up Nina. When he walked into the classroom, he saw another parent who has a baby close in age to Addie. He started talking to the parent, asked how the baby was doing, and how old he was. The mother responded, and as J.C. started to say, "Addie is almost 4 months..." instead he said, "Addie... OH MY GOSH... Addie... Elise, COME ON... RUN... we FORGOT Addie!!!!" Poor Addie was still sitting in the car in the preschool parking lot babbling to herself, wondering where everybody had gone.
J.C. said his heart dropped out of his body when he realized he left her, so I don't think he'll make that mistake again. I have to say though that it was slightly gratifying to realize I'm not the only one in the house losing precious brain cells at an alarming rate!
