Can I blame this on sleep deprivation? On juggling three kids? On the fact that with every child born, more of my brain turns to mush? Surely one of these is an acceptable scapegoat for what I did tonight...
JC was working late, so the girls and I piled in the car to meet him at a restaurant near work. When we got done eating, I dug through my purse and pockets looking for my keys. As I began digging through the diaper bag, JC left with all three girls in his car. I still wasn't able to find my keys, so I started walking out to the parking lot to see if I had left them in the car. As I approached the car, I heard an engine running. No... no, that can't be my car. Please don't let that be my car. As I looked at the cars parked next to mine, they were all empty. As I got closer, I realized, yes.... that was my car. My car was sitting in the parking lot the entire time we were at dinner unlocked with the engine running!
I guess I can be thankful I didn't leave one of the kids in the car too, right?... gotta find the silver lining!
the two times i locked myself out of my car... it was running.
