It's a girl!

At 8:03 this morning, we welcomed a new baby girl to our family.  She weighed in at 9 lbs. 4 oz., 19.5 inches long, and is yet unnamed.

Ticking things off the list

We are slowly but surely ticking things off our master "to do before baby's arrival" list. I think the nursery is finally ready, so I thought I'd share a couple of pictures. This is the first time we've ever known the gender before the birth, so it has been fun to do a totally pink, girly, flowery nursery this go 'round! Now to get that hospital bag packed!

What's in a name, part 2

With expecting a Christmas baby, we've received lots of name suggestions of Christmasy names... Noelle, Mary, Holly, Christine, etc. Of course, Nina had to throw her suggestion into the pot. She said, "How 'bout we name the baby "Baby Jesus"?"  We told her that we appreciated the suggestion but didn't think Jesus was going to work well for this baby girl. Her response was, "Then Jesus can be the middle name!"  Hmmm.... Jella Jesus... it does have a flare to it!  :)   

What's in a name?

Oh... the pressure!!  It's baby naming time. We have just a few short weeks until Baby Girl #3 makes her debut, and somehow I don't think she would appreciate the name "Baby Girl #3" as she gets older. So... bring on the names! We need something that goes with Elise and Nina... not too modern, not too traditional, not too popular, not too obscure. We're hoping for some ideas a little better than the ones we are getting from Nina: Jella, Zara, and Sona. Where does she come up with these??

Gotta love those new 3-D ultrasound machines!

I had an ultrasound yesterday, and although baby wasn't being very cooperative for pictures, we did manage to get one shot of her face. She measured pretty big - 94th percentile, so this may be the biggest kiddo yet!

She's definitely grown a lot in the last 12 weeks... no more full body pics like this one from 19 weeks into the pregnancy.
