My best piece of advice to all new parents: Start an orthodontia fund NOW. If you haven't started a college savings account, you should probably do that too. You'll need money for braces sooner though, so get that account started and fund it monthly... or weekly... or at least start putting away all your pocket change. You are going to need it.
Braces are obscenely expensive, but as much as I have complained about the costs, I have to say, they have been worth it.
Elise in 2011 - pre-braces
2012 - just after having braces put on
2012 - after having braces for almost a year
and now in 2014, the braces are gone, and the smile is gorgeous! We may have bought the orthodontist a BMW, boat, and vacation home along the way, but Elise loves her new smile and we do too!
