Simple Woman's Daybook, March 18, 2013

For Today...

Outside my window... it is dark, foggy, and drizzly.

   

   I am thinking... about J.C.'s birthday tomorrow.

   

 I am thankful for... perfect weather for the cook-out we had for J.C.'s birthday on Saturday. It was cold Friday and Sunday but fantastic on Saturday for kicking all the kids outside to run around.

   

 From the kitchen... cheese tortollini with vodka sauce and garlic bread. There was supposed to be salad too, but I didn't get around to making it.

     

 I am creating... Disney blog posts.... just a few more to go.

   

I am going... to eat the last cupcake tonight. A 13 year old boy on Elise's jump rope team has a cupcake business, so I ordered cupcakes from him for our cook-out. They were fabulous!

 

I am reading... The Fixer Upper by Mary Kay Andrews. This book is OK... not great, but good enough to keep reading.

 I am hoping... that my dad starts feeling better soon. He is run down with a cold.

   

I am hearing... the dryer running.

Around the house... we are working on renovation plans.... slowly but surely.

     

One of my favorite things... coffee flavored ice cream, especially Ben and Jerry's Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz and Haagen Dazs Coffee Chocolate Chip.

 

A few plans for the rest of the week... country club camp for two days for the girls, then back to school, school talent show for Elise (jumping rope), neighborhood Easter egg hunt, Easter lunch at my parents' retirement community, and Girl Scouts.

 

Here is a picture thought I am sharing... a rare moment of sisterly love captured!

On the subject of coffee ice cream - Ben and Jerry's Coffee Heath Bar Crunch is beyond delicious. Try it - you'll like it.

I will have to try it... does it really beat Coffee Coffee, Buzz Buzz though? That is like the ultimate for me!
