For Today...
Outside my window... it is dreary and cold... actually feels a bit like winter.
I am thinking... that I will never again wait until Christmas Eve to buy cranberries. I hit up three grocery stores this afternoon, and they were all out. Turkey without cranberry sauce - what's the point?
I am thankful for... my family being healthy for the holidays.
From the kitchen... pork roast, baked macaroni and cheese, sweet potato casserole, green beans, rolls, and brownie sundaes for dessert (I know... it has to be the least holiday-ish dessert ever. It was not my first choice, but it was easy.)
I am creating... Christmas Eve dinner.
I am going... to finish wrapping gifts tonight after the kids are in bed.
I am reading... Every Last One by Anna Quindlen. My friend Cindy told me in a recent blog post that I had to read it. Cindy, I am dutifully reading and enjoying. I did not read your spoiler, and I look forward to a book discussion lunch when I'm done! I finished State of the Onion (White House Chef Mysteries, No. 1) by Julie Hyzy. That was a fun book. I think I'll read the others in the series.
I am hoping... for a fun Christmas day tomorrow. I love Christmas morning, especially!
I am hearing... a quiet house. I believe everyone is napping. How nice.
Around the house... scraps of wrapping paper, rolls of tape, sheets of tissue paper. The wrapping station seems to be overtaking the entire downstairs.
One of my favorite things... Christmas movies and specials. Some of my favorites that I love to watch each year are: Elf, Arthur Christmas, The Santa Clause, Miracle on 34th Street (both old and new), Prep and Landing, and A Charlie Brown Christmas.
A few plans for the rest of the week... relax, play with new toys, watch new movies, play new games, and just spend time together as a family. JC and I lined up one day this week when the two older girls will be at jump rope camp and the youngest will be at daycare. We can have a day to ourselves to have a lunch date and go see a movie.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing... Addison on her birthday last week.
