For Today...
Outside my window... there is a storm brewing! As I drove the girls to school this morning, they kept asking why it looked like nighttime.
I am thinking... that my new camera should arrive this week! I was only able to use it for a month before it started having problems and had to go to Canon for service. I hope they fixed all the issues and that I didn't buy a lemon!
I am thankful for... JC returning home all in one piece after another downhill mountain biking adventure in Snowshoe, WV. He left Thursday before the crack of dawn and got home about midnight last night. I am also thankful that the girls and I all survived the 4 days of single parenting. We had our moments, and we pretty much lived on happy meals and pizza, but we got through it.
From the kitchen... not sure... the rain is putting a damper on my "turkey sausage on the grill" idea.
I am wearing... my new Snowshoe t-shirt, denim shorts, and flip flops.
I am creating... lots of consignment sale tags. The big twice-a-year children's consignment sale is coming up soon, and I've been tagging like a mad woman!
I am going... to spend some time digging through the attic today. I need to pull things out for the consignment sale and also for a friend's yard sale to benefit the National MS Society.
I am reading... The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan.
I am hoping... that Nina has a fabulous second day of kindergarten. She only went one day last week as they do "staggered entry" for kindergarteners where only a subset of the class comes each day the first week. Today will be her first day with all the children in the class. Her first day of kindergarten was a bit overshadowed by the bus fiasco, so I'm hoping today will be a more normal day.
I am hearing... Addie having a wonderful time sitting on the floor next to the pantry, dumping granola bars out of the box and then shoving them back in. Endless entertainment!
Around the house... ants. Rgh!
One of my favorite things... Bird's Eye Steamfresh frozen veggies that steam in the bag... not organic, not local, not fresh, but so darn quick and easy! Also, I'm not a big broccoli fan, but Elise and Addie devour it, so this is an easy way to provide their beloved broccoli!
A few plans for the rest of the week.... not much! With it being Nina's first full week of kindergarten, I'm sure she'll be wiped out in the evenings. I have bunco this week, but that's about it.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing... Check out Nina's height in this picture from a recent birthday party. She is not wearing shoes and is not standing on anything. The four girls in the middle are all in kindergarten like her. Maybe we should quit saving for college and just start prepping her for a basketball scholarship!
