We were at the pool this morning, and the girls always like to rummage around through the lost and found crate in hopes of finding some great pool toy to use for the day. One second they were fine. The next, I hear Elise exclaim, "Whoa!! Addie!!", and I look over to see Addie upside down in the crate, sort of wedged in there with her arm floaties on and her legs straight up in the air kicking. Does it make me a terrible mother that I thought, "Man I wish I had a camera or camcorder in my hand right now!"? It seriously looked like something out of a cartoon or sitcom. You'll be glad to know that I did not race home to get my camera. I did rescue the poor child. She was fine... a bit puzzled as to how she had ended up head first in the lost and found, but no worse for the wear! It definitely gave me a bit of a chuckle though.
Haha!! That would have probably been my first thought, too. I am happy to report that this morning when Maddie took a plastic Target bag and proceeded to put it over her head, I was very quick to remove it (and freak out a bit, afterall these things have warnings about this sort of thing, how could we have been so stupid to let her carry it around?). Only later did I think it would make a funny photo...and considered whether it would be unsafe to take it. It was a funny image in my head in retrospect.

You know they take your mommy badge for lesser offenses... ha ha... Good day for the pool though. Hope the first few days have been OK, while the boys have been off to Snowshoe.

I have many of the motherhood moments - the fight between fetching a camera and rescuing our babies.
