The Simple Woman's Daybook - January 12

I recently stumbled across The Simple Woman's Daybook on the web and thought I'd give it a try. I'm hoping this will make me take a moment each Monday to step back, take a breath, and focus on what's going on in my life rather than constantly having my life run circles around me. So... today marks my first Simple Woman's Daybook post.

 

For Today...

Outside my window... it is cold and blustery.

I am thinking... about invitations for Nina's birthday party.

I am thankful for...the Starbuck's gift cards I got for Christmas

From the kitchen... tacos, perhaps.

I am wearing... Levi's, a Cafe Pasqual's t-shirt, and a fuzzy fleece button-up shirt.

I am creating... my first Simple Woman's Daybook post.

I am going... to take Elise to get her eyes examined. She was borderline for needing glasses last time we went.

I am reading... Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyers and Parenting, Inc. by Pamela Paul.

I am hoping... that Addison's second week of daycare goes a little smoother than the first.

I am hearing...quiet. I love that. Just the buzzing of the computer.

Around the house... Christmas decorations are finally down! Yea!

One of my favorite things... my grill. The weather doesn't look promising this week for grilling, but hopefully I can get out there at least one night. It makes me smile.

A few plans for the rest of the week.... This is a busy week with making dinners at a dinner prep place with my friend C, a Brownie meeting for Elise, and my neighborhood Bunco night.

Here is a picture I am sharing... This is Nina with the greeting card house that she and J.C. built together at preschool. (and here is last year's house).

Bill's going to be grilling in the cold dark tonight. :-) We pulled out our last meal - the flank steak Sat night and then didn't feel like cooking last night. Whattya think - flank steak and sweet potato casserole? Gotta empty the freezer before we go tomorrow night.
